Border collies are best known for their effortless herding of huge flocks of sheep in close groups on a farm.
But a stubborn lamb seemed to break the rules and instead decided to confront a working sheepdog trying to herd it in the Netherlands.
Footage shows the brave ram lamb holding back from his flock and refusing to move, despite the border collie’s best efforts to chase it away.
In the video, taken in Roermond on April 21, the sheepdog barks and jumps at the deviant livestock, but appears stunned when the lamb stares at him instead.

Despite the dog’s best efforts, the lamb seemed totally unfazed by the dog’s advances, who saw it leap and bow to the flock in an attempt to push them back.
During the confrontation, another brave lamb decides to join the fight and stand next to his companion, but is quickly frightened when the border collie barks.
The working dog eventually manages to shuffle the lamb backwards toward the flock by repeatedly jumping toward it and appears satisfied with its work.
But when the sheepdog starts to run away, the stubborn lamb can be seen trotting away from the rest of the flock as it cunningly tries to get away.
Commenting on the footage, the farmer said: “At the start of the season there is always that one ram lamb that challenges the dogs.”
Viewers were left in awe after watching the unusual clip, which has racked up nearly 90,000 views on YouTube, and were quick to comment on the sheep’s cheeky demeanor.
