Wayne Rooney’s position as manager of Derby is said to be “on the cutting edge” after he fainted in the photo in a hotel room with half-naked women. A photo that went viral on Sunday shows him leaning against a blonde woman in a nightclub
Wayne Rooney’s position as manager of Championship club Derby County is said to be ‘on the cutting edge’ after the former England striker was pictured passing out in a hotel room with half-naked women.
The Manchester United legend has turned the spotlight firmly on him in recent days dagen Photos emerged showing the 35-year-old sleeping with the women in a hotel room. He has since claimed to have been blackmailed.
Rooney, a father of four who has been married to childhood sweetheart Coleen since 2008, reportedly joined the group of girls after a night out in a room at the Staycity hotel in Manchester.
After reportedly partied in the exclusive Chinawhite nightclub after Derby’s preseason friendly with Salford City, Wayne was seen with two women at their hotel room at 5.15am on Sunday.
New footage, taken by a fan, shows him walking with two blondes – believed to be Snapchat model Tayler Ryan – to their £50 a night hotel after he and her friends Elise Melvin and Brooke Morgan had partied. .
One of the images widely shared on social media shows Rooney leaning towards a blonde woman, although there is no evidence of any wrongdoing on the part of the former footballer.
It’s clear the footage was taken on Saturday night, the first weekend nightclubs across England were allowed to open after coronavirus restrictions were eased by the government.
Championship Derby is said to be ‘extremely upset’ by the images that have emerged
Now another blow to Rooney, according to The Sun his position as Derby manager is on the line after the episode.
A source told The Sun: ‘It’s 50-50. The club is very upset by the images that have emerged.
“As a manager, he has to lead by example, on and off the field. That’s the least they expect from him.
“There is absolutely no sexual impropriety on his part. But Wayne clings on and is desperate to keep the job.
His salary is one of the highest in the championship. Losing now would be a huge setback.’
The job at Derby is Rooney’s first managerial job. He took over as part of the interim coaching staff last season before winning the position definitively in January 2021.

Derby kicks off their new championship campaign at home to Huddersfield on August 7, but it remains to be seen if Rooney will be in charge.
The ex-Britain skipper, who reportedly earns £4.5 million from Derby, claimed to police that he had been blackmailed over the photos the three women took while he was fully clothed and sleeping in a chair.
Rooney’s representatives told MailOnline earlier this week that they had filed a formal complaint of blackmail with the police when social media was flooded with images of Sunday’s night out.
Ex-Manchester United star Rooney, who is married to Coleen and has four sons with his high school sweetheart, has reportedly partied into the early hours of Sunday with three young women in their twenties.
It is clear that Cheshire Constabulary did not examine any of the women in the footage and there is no suggestion that the alleged blackmail threat was made by them.
But the footballer had said he had received a message saying ‘Tomorrow Wayne 10 grand please mate or Coleen sees this’.
However, police told MailOnline on Tuesday evening that they believe there was no violation of the blackmail claims.
A spokesperson said: ‘On Monday, July 26, Cheshire Constabulary received reports of possible blackmail regarding a number of images circulating online.
“Agents have spoken to the person concerned and are convinced that no criminal offenses have taken place. The person concerned has also indicated that he does not want to go into the matter further.’
Sources close to Rooney said the footballer was “surprised” that the investigation had been halted on Tuesday evening.
Rooney is busy preparing his Derby side for the new Championship season, which kicks off in a fortnight.
But things aren’t going according to plan on the pitch either, as the team currently only has nine registered senior players – two of them goalkeepers.
Saturday he swore he won’t run away as manager, but the club warned that it would be ‘impossible’ for him to field a team for the start of the new Sky Bet Championship season without significant signings.

“It’s other people, over whom I have no control, who have to make bigger decisions,” Rooney said. “All I can do is try to bring some dignity and pride back to this club. Obviously that has disappeared in recent years and my job is to bring that back.
‘I need other people to do their job. It’s not ideal, it was very difficult not to know what my team will be in two weeks when the competition starts. Anyway, we have to sort that out.
‘If I’m honest, a manager in my situation would easily walk away. It’s a challenge for me, I’m a fighter. I am grateful to Derby for giving me this opportunity and I will do everything I can to help the club through this.
On Tuesday, Sports post reported that the EFL was easing the club’s transfer embargo, allowing them to sign free players to one-year contracts or put players on loan for six months if they have fewer than 23 players “of professional standing”.
Rooney takes a session on Monday as the pressure mounts for the new season
The incident involving star man Jason Knight (pictured last season) has shaken the crisis-stricken club to its foundations
Rooney is under further scrutiny at Derby County after allegedly injuring one of his own players in training.
He is said to have tackled midfielder Jason Knight in an exhibition game, and the fallout has left his first-team star on the treatment table for up to 12 weeks.
The Telegraph claimed Rooney’s challenge was a ’50-50′ and just an accident, but the bizarre situation is especially damaging in light of the club’s woes en route to the new season.
Knight suffered the setback during Derby’s pre-season camp at Pennyhill Park, a luxury hotel and spa in Surrey, with Rooney himself taking part in the drill due to his lack of players.
