Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford celebrated his 30th birthday in style this weekend and several familiar faces made sure to attend.

On Saturday afternoon, the England international featured in Everton’s 2-0 defeat to Man United, where Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes scored for the hosts.

Hours later, it appears Pickford spent the evening celebrating with loved ones and close friends after turning 30 last Thursday.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, sharing photos from the event, Pickford’s wife Megan wrote: ‘What a night for husband’s 30th birthday.

‘You mean the world to all of us. Thank you so much @jonnybongolacey for the best night of my life.”

The photos she shared showed the stunning ballroom that had been designed for the event at Merrydale Manor, as well as photos of her with the Everton star.

The account Megan had tagged belongs to ‘Jonny Bongo’, founder of Bongos Bingo, which is ‘a crazy mix of traditional bingo, dancing, rave intervals and crowd participation’, according to their website.

‘Bongo’ took to his own Instagram page to share a photo from the night, which showed Wayne Rooney, Tony Bellew and Seamus Coleman attending the event.

Rooney had also been at Old Trafford earlier that day for United’s clash against Everton, where he criticized Bruno Fernandes for allowing Marcus Rashford to take United’s second penalty.

Fernandes scored the first penalty of the match after James Tarkowski fouled Alejandro Garnacho, and looked set to step forward again when Ben Godfrey brought down the Argentine minutes later.

Everton goalkeeper Pickford and his wife Megan shared photos from the night with their online followers.

However, he passed the ball to Rashford instead. And despite the striker’s goal, Rooney, speaking on TNT Sports, claimed it was the wrong decision to pass the ball.

“I think any club should have a penalty taker,” Rooney said. “I understand when a player is going through a difficult time, but when it’s 1-0 it’s risky.

“Goalkeepers study so much now that Jordan (Pickford) would have known his favorite way, but it’s a game of cat and mouse.

‘I used to practice and tell the goalkeepers which way to go. If I know them, I’ve surpassed them all, but it can be a little more nervous.”
