Wayne Rooney has announced he will leave DC United after his contract expires and the MLS season is almost over.
After signing off in a 2-0 win over New York City on Saturday evening, Rooney told reporters he will not renew his contract in the US capital.
On his decision to leave, the Manchester United and England legend said: ‘This is the right time. I have done everything I can to get this club to the play-offs. Not one thing happened. It’s about timing.’
