Earlier this year, O Beach’s owner was indicted for £ 8.5 million after former Premier League footballer Jonathan ‘Joey’ Hutchinson became paralyzed after diving into the club’s pool.
Jonathan Hutchinson (pictured), who played for Birmingham City in the Premier League, broke his neck while partying at the Ocean Beach Club – set up by Gary’s brother Wayne Lineker
The former Birmingham City defender was discovered by another guest ‘floating in the pool’ at the resort called Ocean Beach Club at the time of the incident in June 2016.
The Middlesbrough-born 37-year-old is now tetraplegic – he suffers from “ reduced ability to move his shoulders, elbows, wrists and otherwise total paralysis of his body. ”
He argued that the incident could have been avoided if there had been clearly visible signs that diving was prohibited.
