A woman has been hospitalised after falling from a balcony following an alleged assault in Sydney.
Emergency services were called to a complex of units on John Street, Waterloo, at around 6pm on Sunday in response to reports of an assault.
According to police, a 31-year-old woman allegedly fell from an upper level into the courtyard of a ground-floor unit but managed to walk away.
About an hour later, she was located on nearby George Street with head injuries by a member of the public who contacted emergency services.
The woman was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in a stable condition.
Shortly afterwards, a 35-year-old woman arrived at the same hospital, claiming she had fallen from a balcony in Waterloo.
Police are investigating whether the incidents are related.
