Apple is today releasing the latest update of watchOS 6.1 and introducing watchOS 6 support for the Apple Watch models from the Series 1 and 2. watchOS 6 originally debuted last month, but owners of the Series 1 and 2 had to use this 6.1 update waiting to upgrade.
This latest update also supports Apple & # 39; s new AirPods Pro headphones, just one day before it is sent to customers. Apart from these changes, it is a fairly minor update for Apple Watch owners who already had watchOS 6, but it contains the usual performance improvements and bug fixes that you would expect from a point release.
Apple has not revealed whether this update improves the battery life on the latest Series 5 Apple Watch. Some owners have reported problems with the battery life that didn't last a full day, and beta copies of watchOS 6.1 seemed to improve things for some. Either way, watchOS 6.1 is now available in the General> Software Update section of the Watch app on iOS.
