China’s state broadcaster CCTV reported that the world’s largest container ship, which was developed and built in China, was preparing to set off on Saturday for its maiden voyage from Ningbo Zhoushan Port in east China’s Zhejiang Province.
The vessel has a total length of more than 399 meters, a beam of more than 61 meters and a cargo depth of more than 33 metres.
As for the deck area, it is equal to 24,000 square meters, and its height is equivalent to the height of a 22-storey building, and it can load 24,346 standard containers of 20 feet at a time.
