A builder has created a state-of-the-art barbecue area in a huge wooden box.

The space, which includes a free-standing barbecue, mini fridge and three large storage cupboards, as well as shelves and two worktops, is the brainchild of British kitchen supplier Paul Mark.

The BBQ is located in what looks like a gazebo, with a retractable door that lifts up to protect you from the rain while you cook.

A video of the invention, which has been viewed 10.3 million times since it was uploaded to TikTok on July 15, went viral in Australia after it was posted to the “Australian Low and Slow BBQers” Facebook community group.

Viewers were quick to rave about the unique creation, with one man calling it the “cutest barbecue spot” he’s ever seen.

“I’m jealous, I want one just like that,” added another.

A third said he would “probably live in it” if he could.

But many felt that the design completely negates the purpose of barbecuing.

“Looks nice, but what’s the point if it looks like you’re inside instead of outside,” one person wrote.

A second said, “You might as well cook in your kitchen.”

Some feared that after one winter it would attract insects and be “full of spiders.”

Others offered suggestions to take the barbecue to the next level, with one person encouraging the designer to build a wooden deck on the side.
