While turning on its 15th lap, the 19-year-old’s car began to spin before hitting the barricade. As Siegel attempted to regain control, the vehicle spun backward along the wall before overturning.
After the terrifying accident, Siegel immediately informed his team that he was fine over the public address system.
‘Yes I’m fine. I’m so sorry guys,’ said the Californian. ‘I’m fine.’
“I don’t know (what happened), to be honest,” Siegel shared after being checked out and released from the infield care facility. “I’ll have to take a closer look.”

Siegel was able to walk away from the accident with assistance after his car flipped up and over.
“I had some oversteer that I caught and then I spun and spun, and I’m not exactly sure why.”

“I feel bad for the team that has been working so hard for so long for this and just wasted it,” he said. —So I’m not happy with that at all.
“But we’ll keep going and see if we can get back out there and qualify for tomorrow’s race.”
Siegel currently races full-time in Indy NXT and is vying for his second points start in the IndyCar Series. The teenager managed to get out of the accident with help. However, the race was stopped because the track needed patching after the suspension of his car sank into the pavement.

“I’m fine,” Siegel reiterated. “I feel like I can get back out there and we’ll at least have a chance to make it to the race, but it’s certainly a setback that we didn’t need, so my apologies to everyone.”
‘We will probably have to go back to the spare car and we don’t know exactly where it will be. I will investigate what I can do differently.’
