Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese combined brilliantly in Saturday night's WNBA All-Star Game

They may be a long way from this big game, but Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese certainly sang the same anthem at the WNBA All-Star Game on Saturday night.

Clark and Reese, who are battling for this year’s Rookie of the Year award, put their rivalry aside and combined to great effect at the annual women’s basketball showcase at the Footprint Center.

In the fourth quarter of the game, Clark went on a blistering run before looking up and seeing her teammate in acres of space.

She then dropped a dime into the path of Reese, who calmly scored from close range to increase the WNBA Team’s lead on the night.

After connecting brilliantly, the duo produced an iconic image as they shared a high five before continuing with the game.

Before connecting on the court, Reese was asked by ESPN’s broadcast crew during Saturday’s game how much he enjoyed playing with Clark.

“It’s so cool, when she gets the ball I run to get it because I know she’s going to throw it,” she said while sitting on the bench.

“It’s been great to play with her. I hope that in four years we can be Olympians together.”

Clark and Reese were on the winning team in Phoenix, as the WNBA All-Stars outlasted USA Basketball in a 117-109 victory.

Arike Ogunbowale stole the show in the second half after scoring the most points in WNBA All-Star Game history with a record 34.

Reese, meanwhile, ensured a night to remember on an individual level after achieving a double-double (13 points, 11 rebounds).

Clark also broke the rookie record for assists in an All-Star Game after scoring 10 on the night, just one shy of the overall record.
