Channel Nine football commentator Marlee Silva was left red-faced on live TV last weekend at Shark Park, and her high-profile housemate Nicho Hynes was to blame.

The rising TV star made a video for the camera with Sharks player and NRL great Brad Fittler and jokingly revealed that Hynes can be a “tough” owner and “often hangs around the house” when he is injured.

Hynes bit his tongue before giving a final laugh and saying: ‘I’ll tell you what, I hope you (Fittler) don’t sit next to him because he doesn’t shower, he stinks so much.

‘She farts all the time too.’

Hynes was clearly taking a dig at Silva, who took the good-natured banter in stride moments before kick-off against Cronulla and Newcastle last Sunday, declaring: “That’s all the time we’ve got,” before responding to a colleague in the studio.

Daily Mail Australia understands the duo live in Caringbah, south of Sydney, but are not dating.

They previously wrote a children’s book together titled Stand Proud, which is based on Hynes’ experiences discovering her Native American heritage.

Hynes bought the four-bedroom, three-bathroom home in June last year for $2.17 million, which also includes separate living quarters for his troubled mother.

Hynes’ commitment to the Sharks was solidified in April when he signed a contract extension through 2029.

“I never thought I would sign a long-term contract in the NRL, one that I hope will improve my life and that of my family as well,” Hynes said at the time.

‘This whole town, the whole community has welcomed me and I can never imagine putting on another shirt.’

Hynes and Silva had already created a buzz last November when they posed together on the red carpet before the ARIA Awards in Sydney.

With the NRL finals approaching, Hynes will aim to return in late August as the Sharks look to consolidate a top-four place.

The playmaker fractured his leg during training in July and is said to be making good progress in his recovery as his side chase championship glory.

Hynes won an NRL grand final with Melbourne in 2020 but did not play against Penrith.
