Watch: Russia repelled an attack by Ukraine on one of its ships in the Black Sea

Several incidents involving Russian warships or aircraft have occurred in the Black Sea since the start of the attack on Ukraine on February 24, 2022.

Russia announced Sunday that it had repulsed an attack by Ukraine by drone boats on one of its warships, which was patrolling in the Black Sea near two gas pipelines transporting Russian fuel to Turkey.

The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Telegram that “Ukrainian armed forces unsuccessfully tried to attack the Priazovy ship of the Black Sea Fleet with six high-speed unmanned boats.”

The ministry indicated that the attack took place on Saturday night while the Russian ship was carrying out its mission “to ensure security along the TurkStream and Blue Stream gas pipelines in the southeastern part of the Black Sea.”

These two pipelines are used to transport Russian gas to Türkiye.

The ship was able to destroy all Ukrainian ships and did not suffer any damage, according to the Russian Ministry.
