It’s no wonder Warriors superstar Steph Curry surprises those around him.
Usually that happens on the basketball court, but on Friday in Abu Dhabi, the four-time NBA champion surprised his U.S. teammates and others around him by demonstrating his fearlessness with a few feathers.
After initially being stunned as he passed a beautiful falcon upon the team’s arrival, Curry stopped and held the bird, which is the national emblem of the United Arab Emirates, on his left forearm.
“Woohoo!” Curry shouted with his new friend on his arm.
But his teammates on Team USA weren’t so enthusiastic.
Jrue Holiday stood next to Curry and seemed to want nothing to do with it. Curry turned to him and tried to give him an obscene signal, but the Boston Celtics star guard shook his head and walked away.
A stunned Joel Embiid remained at a safe distance, close enough to see the action but far enough to avoid any interaction.
Even Curry’s former Warriors teammate Kevin Durant stopped to see what all the fuss was about before quickly continuing on his way.
Then there was Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo taking photos and videos of the whole thing.
Team USA landed in Abu Dhabi on Friday ahead of a pair of exhibition games in the United Arab Emirates as the team prepares to go for basketball gold at the Paris Olympics this summer.
But not without making some friends along the way.
