The US Agency for International Development (USAID) announced on Wednesday that it had suspended its food aid to the war-ravaged Tigray region in northern Ethiopia, after shipments were monitored in local markets.
“We have made the difficult decision to suspend all USAID-supported food assistance (allocated) to the Tigray region until further notice,” said agency director Samantha Power.
