A cheeky warthog has fooled a pack of sleeping lions by waking them up and sprinting away, leaving them bewildered at what just happened.
Pumbaa, named after the warthog in The Lion King, sees the four lions that are napping by a tree and initially quietly thinks the other way before stopping in its tracks in South Africa.
Then he chooses to go straight to the lions, before he shoots straight at them, causing the startled pride to wake up immediately, just in time to watch the warthog sprint in the distance.

The rattling lions do not know what is going on, because they became attentive when the warthog woke up and looked around confused.
Safari guide Onne Vegter recorded the moment in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, in South Africa.
Onne captured the moment on 10 February 2018, but it was only recently shared on a prominent nature site.
