The film was supposed to be released on July 21, 2023, but ended up being replaced by Barbie.
“With the relaunch of Warner Bros. Pictures Animation in June, the studio has shifted its global strategy to focus on theatrical releases,” says a spokesperson for Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group. Filmmakers condemn Warner Bros. Discovery’s decision to shelve yet another film, especially Coyote vs. Acme. As Green noted, the film received “fantastic scores” from test audiences, something the filmmaker echoed. Ben David Grabinskiwho co-created Scott Pilgrim takes off. In X, Grabinski called the film “the best of its kind since ROGER RABBIT,” adding, “The leads are very likable. It is beautifully filmed.
