Walls of Jericho drummer Dustin Schoenhofer, 41, was arrested in Oregon on October 23 after being persuaded while carrying more than 630 pounds of marijuana
Dustin Schoenhofer, the old drummer of the Detroit metalcore band Walls of Jericho, was arrested for human trafficking after he was caught driving in Oregon with more than 630 pounds of marijuana in the bed of his pickup truck.
According to a press release from the Oregon State Police on October 23 at 3 p.m., a state trooper pulled the Schoenhofer 2015 Chevy pickup on Highway 15E in milestone 15 for speeding offenses.
Trooper Adam Miller wrote in his log entry & # 39; he smelled a faint odor of raw marijuana on the back of the truck & # 39 ;, reported KTVZ.
The trooper was likely to search the musician's vehicle and discovered 632.5 pounds of marijuana and 36.8 pounds of suspected butane honey oil extract, also known as hash oil or cannabis oil, a highly concentrated form of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).
Allegedly Schoenhofer told state staff that he did not know the marijuana and 36.8 pounds of cannabis oil were in the back of his 2015 Chevy truck
Research has shown that marijuana and BHO extract were destined for Ohio, where Schoenhofer lives.
When asked about the huge bag of bales packed in black garbage bags in the bed of his pickup truck, Schonehofer reportedly told the trooper that he didn't know that the marijuana was behind it, Miller wrote.
The drummer was booked in Klamath County prison on charges of marijuana export; export extract; possession and distribution of a controlled substance-marijuana, and possession and distribution of a regulated substance extract.
He has since been released after placing a $ 45,000 bond.
Schoenhofer has been playing with the Detroit-based Walls of Jerico since 2004
Walls of Jericho was founded in Detroit in 1998, named in honor of an album by metal band Halloween.
The band consists of singer Candace Kucsulain, guitar players Chris Rawson and Mike Hasty, bass player Aaron Ruby and Schoenhofer on drums.
Over the past decade, Walls of Jericho has released five metalcore albums, most recently No One Can You You Yourself in 2016.
Schoenhofer, who previously played with the bands Next to Nothing and Premonitions of War, was hired to fill a vacant drummer slot in 2004.
According to an interview he did in 2016, Schoenhofer comes from a family of drummers, including his father, uncle and older brother.
Since his arrest, the musician has deleted his Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages.
