Vu Televisies today launched the world's first 100-inch TV – the Vu 100 in India. The TV is aimed at customers who want to stay ahead of the convention and buy a premium set for a satisfying cinema experience in their bedroom.
It's 100-inch format is the main distinguishing factor of the TV, while hardware and software do not have a big upgrade compared to the existing technology. It ensures that Android Oreo comes out of the box, making it the first TV in the league with the latest version of Android.
In terms of hardware, the Mediateks MT 6568 SoC is paired with 2.5 GB of DDR4 RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. Of course you get multiple ports to expand the storage by connecting an external storage device such as a pendrive or an HDD.
It is a 4K TV (3840x2159p) that promises 50,000 hours of panel life and also offers HDR10 support. As said, it is the only panel of its size, but the company has not disclosed the manufacturer.
For audio, the TV has a built-in JBL sound bar at the bottom, consisting of 8 loudspeakers and 1 woofer. Output power is 2000 watts and also supports Dolby and DTS audio.
Some of the key features are ActiVoice technology that allows users to control IoT devices using the TV remote control. Users can, for example, connect household appliances such as lamps, loudspeakers etc. and operate them at the touch of a button. It gives you complete control over domotics, since all devices work on the same WiFi network.
The Vu 100 has three HDMI ports, two USB ports and one Ethernet port for connectivity.
Price and availability
It is priced at Rs 20,000.00 in India and exclusive to Flipkart for online sales and will also be available in partner offline stores.
