Oppenheimer’s film would take just 4 minutes and 25 seconds to download on Gig2, compared to 2 hours and 7 minutes with an average connection.

Meanwhile, hit BBC show The Traitors could be downloaded in just 30 seconds on Gig2, compared to 14 minutes and 36 seconds on an average connection.

Alex Tofts, broadband expert at Broadband Genie, said: “While download speeds look exciting, expectations should be tempered.”
