Boston College quarterback Thomas Castellanos had a moment to forget in Saturday’s game against Army when he was knocked down by referee Mark Wilson.
Eagles star Castellanos broke into space and charged onto the field, but as he looked over his shoulder as he broke into free space, he accidentally ran straight into Wilson.
The referee had gone out of his way to get out of the quarterback’s way, even appearing to lower his shoulder slightly and brace for impact when he saw he wouldn’t get out of the way in time.
Castellanos, who is five feet tall and 195 pounds, was sent back to the turf.
Wilson, for his part, walked right up to the player to make sure he was okay, but he also seemed to be hiding a wry smile, judging by the television replay.

And fans watching seemed to see the funny side too.
‘That’s embarrassing. I feel for the kid but I’m still laughing,” said a fan in response to the video as it went viral on social media.
Another wrote: ‘Ref in the Army BC game is built like a brick wall!’.
Another fan joked, “The referee might be the best Linebacker in this game” with a crying emoji.
