Villarreal has taken the tradition of presenting new signings to another level after Santi Cazorla appeared magically from a column of smoke in the center of the field.

The strange presentation began with an empty capsule on a platform inside the Ceramics Stadium before it began to fill with white smoke on Thursday night.

As the expectation progressed, the 4,500 supporters waited with restrained breathing while the announcer presented the main attraction: the return of Cazorla.

As the dense white smoke dispersed, the 33-year-old midfield magician stood in the tube with his arms folded and a smile on his face.

Cazorla originally began his professional career with the Villarreal B team in 2003, before moving on to enjoy another opportunity at the club in 2007 after leaving Recreativo de Huelva a year earlier.

He has signed a one-year contract with the La Liga team that left Arsenal earlier this summer, with the Gunners' last official match against the Ludogorets on October 19, 2016.

The former Spain international spent 646 days on the bench due to an Achilles tendon injury until he played for Villarreal in a friendly last month.

Cazorla said after his presentation: "I go back to my house, I'm eternally grateful to Villarreal for giving me unconditional support and always opening the doors."

Villarreal will start his season against Real Sociedad on August 18.
