Justin Jefferson returned to camp this week as the highest-paid WR in NFL history.

Minnesota Vikings star Justin Jefferson may be the highest-paid receiver in NFL history, but that doesn’t mean he’s going to waste money on unnecessary real estate.

As revealed in the current Netflix series Receiver, Jefferson was living in a modest townhouse in the Minneapolis area during the show’s production in 2023.

Since filming wrapped, however, Jefferson has signed a four-year, $140 million contract that pays him $35 million annually, more than any other wide receiver in football.

Surprisingly, the 25-year-old is in no rush to spend his budding fortune on a new property, as he explained to reporters upon his arrival at the training camp this week.

“I’m just one person, I don’t have a big family,” said Jefferson, who is the father of a daughter. “I don’t need to be in a $10 million mansion, that’s not where I come from.”

“I grew up with parents who were grateful for what they had, and I was grateful for what happened to me when I grew up,” Jefferson continued. “I never grew up without a big, old house. Maybe I’ll move into one, maybe not. I guess we’ll find out sooner or later.”

Jefferson grew up in Louisiana, where he later became a star on the LSU football team. His parents, John and Elaine Jefferson, frequently appear in the Netflix series.

The NFL Films project follows five NFL pass catchers through the 2023 season: Jefferson, Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams, San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle, his teammate wide receiver Deebo Samuel, and Detroit Lions star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown.

The new series is a sequel to a similar NFL Films project titled “Quarterback,” which offered a behind-the-scenes look at quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes II.

As for the best part about Receiver, Jefferson says it’s the trash talk that took place while he was mic’d up during games.

“I feel like everyone’s favorite video is the one from the Detroit game when I was talking some trash and just playing my ball,” Jefferson said, as quoted by Fox 9 Minneapolis‘Just so people can see the inside, really behind the scenes of how we talk in game-like situations, the emotions and the competitive spirit, people could really see that.’

Jefferson was established as the father of a baby girl earlier this month, according to an order issued by a family court judge in New Jersey.

That order, issued by Judge Aldo J Russo on June 26 and obtained by DailyMail.com, states that a “provisional child support obligation” has been agreed upon between Jefferson and the boy’s mother, Andrea Galea.

As DailyMail.com reported in February, Galea accused Jefferson of pressuring her to abort the child after she became pregnant in 2023. Her lawyer at the time declined to comment on that allegation to DailyMail.com. Galea decided to keep the child and gave birth to baby Stella in December, according to her paternity suit.

In their countersuits filed in January, both Jefferson and Galea requested paternity testing. Galea also pushed for financial support and medical coverage from Jefferson.

An attorney for Jefferson declined to comment when contacted by DailyMail.com, while representatives for Galea did not respond to questions.

Galea also pushed for financial support and health care coverage for Jefferson.

Judge Russo’s order set a framework for some recent visitation, required both parents to remain in contact about the child and even allowed the All-Pro to have FaceTime conversations with his young daughter while she and her mother took a recent trip to Italy.

Galea is a graduate of the University of Miami School of Law who previously attended LSU with Jefferson.

The two became romantically involved in 2019 before distancing themselves and reconnecting in April 2023, according to their paternity suit filed on January 19. It was in April 2023 that Galea claims Jefferson was the father of her daughter.

In her January filing against Galea, Jefferson sought a court order preventing him from sharing information about the girl on social media.

Although Galea remains active on social media, her Instagram page has not featured a photo of Stella since May 5.

Jefferson, the 22nd pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, has been a force for the Vikings.

He is averaging 98.3 receiving yards per game as a pro, which is the best in NFL history, and Jefferson is already a three-time Pro Bowl selection and was named Offensive Player of the Year in 2022.

Jefferson missed seven games with injuries last season for a Vikings team that is replacing quarterback Kirk Cousins with free agent Sam Darnold and rookie JJ McCarthy.
