Whitney Risner, the wife of Minnesota Vikings offensive lineman Dalton Risner, was worried about attending Sunday night’s game in Detroit.
As she explained on TikTok while revealing her in-game outfit, Whitney was the target of the Lions faithful in 2023 because of her purple ensemble.
“Last year I was wearing a flashy purple jacket and I’ve never been booed so much at a road game,” he said on TikTok before Sunday’s loss to the Lions.
Unfortunately for Whitney, things didn’t go any better on Sunday night in Detroit, where she was once again tormented by attendees.
“I didn’t know that Detroit fans (simply for being Vikings fans) would boo, poke and insult me at last night’s game,” reads a graphic from the TikTok video, which he added after Sunday’s loss.
And apparently she’s not alone.

Detroit Lions fans riot on a third down play against the Minnesota Vikings in the first quarter at Ford Field on Sunday. By virtue of their win, the Lions now earn a first-round bye.
Vikings linebacker Blake Cashman’s girlfriend Taylor Saunders responded to Whitney’s TikTok post, writing that Lions fans were “wishing injuries on opposing players.”
Another Vikings fan added that she had “the WORST experience at Ford Field.”
“The men hit my shoulder pads, one took the horns off my head, another acted like he was going to hit me in the face,” the woman wrote.
Many Lions fans apologized to Whitney, while a few more offered perspective on their experience.
“I grew up a Vikings fan until 2008 when I went to a game and saw a Vikings fan push a Packers fan down the stairs,” one woman wrote. So I quit the Vikings. “Bad fans are everywhere.”
Those who responded agreed on one thing: Whitney’s custom Vikings outfit for Sunday’s game was a win.
“That top is so cute and looks great on you,” one commenter wrote.
“Not to be dramatic or anything BUT I NEED THAT SHIRT,” another added.
A product of Wiggins, Colorado, Dalton has started eight games this season and 81 over his six-year career with the Vikings and Denver Broncos.
The former Kansas State star married Whitney in 2022.
By virtue of Sunday’s loss, the Minnesota Vikings (14-3) will play the Rams in Los Angeles on Monday night in the Wild Card Round of the NFL playoffs.
Meanwhile, the NFC North champion Lions earn a first-round bye.
