On Friday, the 32-year-old Vikings actor and his wife shared the exciting news in a joint Instagram post featuring a photo of their sleeping newborn son.
Along with the adorable snapshot, they revealed that their son was born weeks early in June, and shared his name in the caption.
“Townes Alexander Ludwig was born on 12/6/24 at 5:22 pm,” the parents of two boys wrote about the newest member of their growing family. “He is everything.”
The Hunger Games star and his wife previously made the announcement, revealing they were expecting “new baby Ludwig” in March.

“Whoops! New baby Ludwig is due in June 2024 and we couldn’t be more excited,” they wrote in a joint post announcing the news.

In February 2023, they shared that they were expecting their first baby together after experiencing multiple pregnancy losses.
They welcomed little Leni on April 27, 2023, four weeks before her due date.
In Lauren’s post, she said her birth was a memorable experience and “a birth story to remember.”
She also shared that Alexander was out of state at the time due to a film project and “came back just in time.”
The couple are already parents to their 14-month-old daughter Leni.

She also reposted a lengthy post shared by Lauren, where she spoke about her miscarriage and how she wanted to share the news publicly to remind women who have also experienced miscarriages that “they are not alone.”
Lauren admitted that she wasn’t sure at first if she would share anything about the miscarriage, but “decided that we all need to start talking more about the truth.”
Ludwig is best known for his role as Bjorn Ironside, son of Ragnar Lothbrok and Lagertha, on the hit show Vikings; he is seen in an image from the series.
“Last week @alexanderludwig and I suffered our third miscarriage. I decided to share it because I don’t think it’s a shameful thing to talk about,” she wrote in her post.
“I want to help others realize how common miscarriages are and that they are nothing to be ashamed of,” she continued.
“Going through this has made me realise that I’m definitely not alone,” she added. “It’s such a common thing, and yet I feel like it’s not talked about enough. If more of us talked about these things, maybe we’d feel less alone and guilty. Information is power and I want to start sharing it more.”
She concluded her post by noting that tragedy will always be a part of their lives, but hoped that “by sharing this, if for no other reason, that person reading this knows they are not alone .”
