Another person said, “#LongLostFamily normally tears me at the reunions, but hearing how Geoffrey was treated in foster care as a child was very disturbing.”
A third added, “I sob my heart for Geoffrey,” while a fourth Twitter user wrote, “I’m so glad Geoffrey and Barbara have each other now.”
Geoffrey and his maternal half-sister from Hampshire were reunited in the ITV program in 2018 after Barbara contacted the program.
Before meeting his sibling, Geoffrey didn’t feel like meeting biological family members and insisted, “You don’t look back.”
But the success of his close relationship with Barbara completely changed Geoffrey’s thinking, and he’s become an avid detective to learn more about his past.

With Barbara and his wife of over 50 years Wendy by his side, Geoffrey was filmed to open his adoption file for the first time.
However, the devastating report revealed that he had been removed from a foster home when neighbors reported the caregivers for neglect – and authorities said he had been mistreated and left tied up in the yard.
Barbara burst into tears after the news and sobbed, “Who would do that to a young boy? Thank God he can’t remember. ‘
Geoffrey was taken from the foster parents, who were unable to care for the children after the neglect.

However, Geoffrey also discovered that his biological father George Holland paid for the maintenance of his son and wrote many adoring letters about him.
His father, who at the time had a wife and a ten-year-old daughter, briefly took Geoffrey into the house.
But he was forced back into the system when George’s wife said she couldn’t take care of another woman’s child.
Unfortunately, Geoffrey’s parents had both died before he had a chance to meet them, as did his older sister on his father’s side.
But the grandfather was thrilled when presenter Nicky Campbell revealed that at the end of the show, he had to meet four nieces, the daughters of his paternal half-sister.
