A state of grief prevailed in Serbia on Thursday, in the wake of an unprecedented school shooting in Belgrade, in which a 13-year-old student killed eight of his comrades and a security guard.
Classes in all schools of this Balkan country began with a minute of silence for the victims of the massacre.
“I cried all day yesterday,” said Mileva Milasovic, an 85-year-old retired lawyer who lives near the school where the massacre took place. “My son went to this school…I will never forget it, because I have to spend every day here.”
