The meeting between Pope Francis and Zelensky dealt with the humanitarian and political situation in Ukraine resulting from the war, as the Vatican affirmed that the two sides stressed the need to continue efforts to support the population and to carry out humanitarian actions towards the most vulnerable victims of the conflict in Ukraine. After the meeting in the Vatican, Zelensky thanked Pope Francis for his interest in the plight of millions of Ukrainians.
