The husbands and wives of the G7 leaders attended a series of events organized for them during the three-day summit in Hiroshima that begins on Friday.
On this first day of the summit, they visited a historic facility in the city to take part in a traditional Japanese tea ceremony. Kishida Yoko, wife of Prime Minister Kishida Fumio and host of the Summit in Japan, cherishes the tradition.
On the same day, partners of the G7 leaders will attend a symposium near the Atomic Bomb Dome, a building close to the epicenter of the 1945 earthquake in the city. Participants, including local university students, are scheduled to discuss peace and the elimination of nuclear weapons.
