Macron laid a wreath in front of the statue of the general and founder of the Fifth French Republic, Charles de Gaulle, on the Champs-Elysées, then laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier under the Arc de Triomphe.
French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne attended the ceremony, along with French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecorno and other officials.
