Japanese director Kore Ida Hirokazu returned to the Cannes Film Festival with his film “Monster”, in which he is participating in the official competition, in order to win the Palme d’Or. This is the seventh film by the Japanese director to be selected in the official competition of the festival. Hirokazu won the festival’s first prize in 2018 for his film “Shoplifters,” then his movie “Like Father Like Sun” won the Jury Prize in 2013.
