Video shows the moment a teenager was attacked by a large group of men in a park in Hemel Hempstead.

The 19-year-old was taken to hospital with head injuries after being punched and kicked in Gadebridge Park on Friday afternoon.

Hertfordshire Constabulary said a 16-year-old boy was arrested on Saturday on suspicion of assault and violent disorder in connection with the attack. He has been released on bail as part of an investigation.

Detective Sergeant Paul Burton, of the Dacorum Local Crime Unit, said: ‘I know that this incident has understandably caused great concern among the local community and I want to reassure people that we are doing everything we can to investigate.

It is believed that the people involved are known to each other.

“As an arrest has been made, it is imperative that the case proceeds unmolested, and we ask people to please refrain from commenting or speculating on social media.”

Police were called to the park just before 2 p.m. on Friday to report that a man had been assaulted.

The 19-year-old suffered a head injury and was taken to hospital by ambulance. He is now recovering from his injuries at home.
