A prison guard has been suspended after allegedly snorting cocaine in the car with a former inmate – while wearing his work uniform.

Footage shows him chatting with ex-prisoners in a car before appearing to inhale a substance from a CD case with a rolled-up note.

Sources say he had just left the Golden Goose pub in Redditch, Worcestershire – nine miles from HMP Hewell where the officer was supposed to work.

A man in the back, presumably an ex-con, says, “If you ever need anything, just let me know, take my number and all.”

The video was filmed from the back seat of a car

The man can be heard on camera asking, “Little lumpy for you?”

The prison guard also appears to be licking a bank card clean from the suspicious white powder.

The pair can be heard as the camera rolls, with part of the conversation between the officer and the former inmate appearing to be discussing drug prices.

Someone in the car then says, “Put the phone down.”

The officer was wearing a jacket with HM Prison Service and his number on it.

A witness said: ‘I couldn’t believe a prison guard in uniform would snort cocaine.

“I spent several years in prison and never encountered anything like it.

“It shocked and surprised me. I could not believe it.’

A source added: “His actions have exposed him to the threat of blackmail.”

The shocking images – filmed on April 22 – were later passed on to prison bosses.

The Prison Service said, “A cop has been suspended and a police investigation is underway.” HMP Hewell hosts 1,278 delays.

According to the latest inspection, there was no coherent approach to drug control in prison.

An earlier report said 70 percent of inmates said drugs were readily available and a quarter had developed drug habits.
