The Prefecture of Seine-Saint-Denis called on residents to avoid the area affected by the fire and to close their windows against the smoke, and also asked to avoid the area to facilitate relief intervention.
A massive fire broke out in Aubervilliers, north of Paris, in the “Rafco Valley” warehouse, which specializes in underwear. This is at the beginning of the afternoon. The 35 employees working in the warehouse evacuated the site immediately, while the “Aimy Cesaire” station of metro line 12 was closed, to allow the rapid intervention of firefighters.
As of 16:00 GMT, the number of firefighting personnel in the area exceeded more than 200 people, who worked to combat the large fire to prevent its spread to neighboring warehouses, supported by firefighting mechanisms. No injuries were recorded.
“This fire is related to a textile warehouse, but does not pose any toxic risk,” Aubervilliers Mayor Karin Frankl wrote on Twitter.
