Joy Corrigan made the monumental decision to have her breast implants removed earlier this month and has now decided to reveal the grueling process behind so-called ‘explant surgery’.
The former Victoria’s Secret model — who is also a former Sports Illustrated swimsuit star and Playboy Playmate — documented her health journey in a recent video she shared on TikTok and Instagram.
Corrigan, 35, previously said she was ready to speak openly about her decision in an effort to spread awareness about “breast implant disease” and shed light on the truth about life with implants.
Similarly, last year, former racing driver Danica Patrick also documented the removal of her breast implant, seven years after suffering health problems including hair loss, weight gain and dizziness.
In his recent video, Corrigan thanked the team behind his explant surgery by showing the different stages of recovery.
“I was terrified to have surgery, but as soon as it was done, I felt an overwhelming sense of relief and freedom. I immediately knew I had made the right choice and I “I was so happy I trusted my intuition,” she explained.

The Reprisal actress also narrated the video of her breast implant removal.

“I’m super excited, I’m super nervous, Mama Dee is my guardian angel. She met me, braided my hair, and then Dr. Rankin came and prescribed surgery,” she explained .
Joy said her boyfriend, technical director Ted Dhanik, 46, was there waiting for her outside.
“I’m so grateful to him,” she said in a photo of the couple hugging before her surgery.
“The operation went well, everything went well. I was super mad afterwards and could barely walk, but the whole team took great care of me,” she said.

Joy was apparently experiencing symptoms of breast implant illness, which led to her decision to have them removed.

Aside from that: She had to be taken to her boyfriend’s car in a wheelchair due to how crazy she felt from the surgery.
Illness: Joy was apparently experiencing symptoms of illness from the breast implants, which led to her decision to have them removed.
Symptoms of BII can include fatigue, joint pain, brain fog, dry eyes, and many other health conditions. Removal of implants often results in immediate relief.
