A Victorian man who sexually abused a 13-year-old girl after a party said & # 39; who cares & # 39; when she revealed her age and then told her to keep her mouth shut.

Nathan Schembri admitted three counts of the girl's sexual penetration in 2015 after a party in northeastern Victoria.

The now 22-year-old repeatedly asked his victim or hair & # 39; first time & # 39; and said he felt bad after she said it was.

& # 39; You went on even if you knew she was only 13 … it was selfish and disrespectful behavior to a girl that was so young, & # 39; Judge Felicity Hampel said Tuesday.

The girl initially told Schembri she was 15, but revealed that she was actually 13 after becoming physical.

& # 39; Is it bad that you know that I am 13? & # 39; the victim asked him.

& # 39; No, what difference does it make, it has already happened, & # 39; he replied before they had a sexual encounter that night.

The next morning, Schembri told the teenager to remain silent.

& # 39; Do not tell anyone what happened because it is illegal, & # 39; he said to his victim.

He also sent her a message on social media with the request not to tell.

& # 39; Seriously, don't tell anyone. You can't say a word, & the message said.

He initially denied the crime when he was interrogated by the police, but later pleaded guilty.

The girl had previously told the court that the incident made her feel & # 39; a piece of meat & # 39; to be.

& # 39; I had taken away my youth and stripped my dignity, & # 39; she said.

The girl initially told Schembri she was 15, but revealed that she was actually 13 after becoming physical. He was also imprisoned for unrelated drug offenses, bringing his total sentence to five years, but he could be released conditionally within two years and six months (photo pictured)

The judge described the violation as & # 39; deeply troubling & # 39; during her convictions in the County Court.

& # 39; You knew she was only 15, and that is bad enough in itself because she was a minor and that you continued when you knew she was 13 makes it clearly worse & # 39 ;, Judge Hampel said.

However, she noted that Schembri had begun to change his life, had stopped using drugs, and had continued professional work.

The judge touched a personal reference to Schembri who was on the letterhead of a Catholic school.

She said it was & # 39; inappropriate & # 39; was given the & # 39; well documented bad behavior of the Catholic Church & # 39; in relation to the sexual abuse of children.

& # 39; I am considering making a formal protest, it is just wrong & # 39 ;, she said.

The judge also took Schembri's age into account at the time of the crime, his remorse, and believed that he would be a good prospect for rehabilitation.

He was also imprisoned for unrelated drug-related offenses, bringing his total sentence to five years, but he could be released conditionally within two years and six months.
