A Victorian couple has claimed the third-largest lottery prize in Australian history after winning Thursday’s Powerball draw.
The Dromana couple on the Mornington Peninsula wanted to remain anonymous after being the only Division One to win the $ 80 million draw.
The jackpot was the biggest win ever in Victoria, with the ecstatic couple still in shock days after winning their prize.
“I’m a bit shaky. I have this conversation, but I think I might wake up and it was all a dream, ”said the winning woman The Lott.
“I’m moving normally, but nothing really gets through right now!”
Their winning entry was not registered on a Tatts card, meaning lottery officials had to wait for the pair to come forward with the winning ticket.

The couple said they don’t play Powerball every week and forgot to check their tickets because they were under lockdown restrictions due to the corona virus pandemic.
“With everything else at the time, I couldn’t remember checking my ticket on a Thursday night, as I usually would, so I checked the ticket late last night (Sunday),” said the winning woman.
“When I scanned the first one on my phone it said ‘don’t win’. I did the following and all over my phone were confetti.
“I said ‘I think I won something’. So other family members started scanning the ticket and nothing collapsed. I just didn’t believe it. ‘
The couple said they have a long list of ideas for spending their new fortunes, including vacations and a new home.
They plan to wait until the coronavirus pandemic is over to start spending.
“We’re throwing ideas all over the place and I’m just thinking” let’s wait until we see the money in the bank account, “said the woman.

“At the moment, the most important thing is going through what we all go through. Our health is very important and we want to focus on getting through this period.
“When it’s over, we’re ready to enjoy the award. It gives us tremendous peace of mind and freedom.
“There’s a lot going on right now, but we don’t have to worry about money anymore.”
