Police stopped the vehicle and spoke to the driver behind the wheel.

They allege the 41-year-old Brighton woman had already been fined and issued a notice of defect by police three days earlier.

They allegedly warned him that the vehicle was unsafe and told him not to drive it.

The woman was assessed another $740 fine for driving a vehicle in violation of a major defect notice.

It also cost him three demerit points.
