Adolescents as young as 14 have been arrested in connection with a recent wave of crimes of alleged armed robbery and car hijacking in southeast Melbourne.

Victory police officers from the Southern Metro Crime Team executed arrest warrants for 10 homes throughout Melbourne on Thursday and Friday in connection with a series of alleged incidents between July 26 and August 7.

Police confiscated a black Holden Captiva and Landrover Discovery, both allegedly stolen, along with imitation firearms and a military assault rifle, which is believed to be an AK-47.

Four teenagers arrested on Thursday morning were charged with crimes that include armed robbery, aggravated car theft, intentional injury, motor vehicle theft, possession of prohibited weapons, handling of stolen items and driving without a license.

A teenager from Cranbourne 17 and a 14-year-old boy from Pakenham were denied bail to appear before a children's court at a later date.

An officer, aged 19, was released to appear before the Magistrates Court of Dandenong at a later date.

A boy from Dandenong North, aged 17, was released, pending further investigation.

Police arrested 10 other people on Friday morning who are being interviewed by the police.

A Victoria police spokeswoman told Daily Mail Australia on Saturday night that no more charges have been filed.

It is understood that adolescents are of African, Asian and Middle Eastern origin.

The arrests were related to a series of alleged incidents, including a Aggravated car theft at Narre Warren South, armed robbery in a milk bar in Halla, attempted aggravated robbery at a milk bar in Hampton, armed robbery at a service station in Lynbrook.

A man was allegedly beaten, robbed and his car was stolen at an ATM in Moorabbin in the most recent incident on Tuesday.
