Fashion designer and former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham has upped the ante at her Paris Week fashion show by including some of her new £175 in champagne.

As a leading designer, Victoria Beckham has a nose for good ideas. And faced with the task of promoting her new perfume at her Paris Fashion Week after-show party, she smelled an opportunity.

On Friday night, the former Spice Girl served guests champagne with her latest fragrance, a feat previously only attempted by Chanel.

The Perrier-Jouet champagne flutes had an edible hint of their opulent new perfume. Chanel’s 2009 Cocktail No 5, created from the iconic Chanel No 5, is believed to be the only precursor to this.

Victoria’s unique party flavor, made from her £170-a-bottle 21:50 Reverie fragrance and combined with ingredients from around the world, was a year in the making, according to people close to the Beckhams.

It was then dropped into the effervescence, glass by glass, so that those gathered on the glorious stage of the Chateau de Bagatelle, where its parade took place, could savor the aroma. One impressed guest said: “It tasted delicious, it was something very special for Victoria.”

‘She wanted to give a lovely gift to her supportive family and friends, but also to let everyone know what her new fragrance smells like, as she is so proud of it. Making the drink was not easy, but it was worth it.”

It was quite a party for Mrs Beckham, who had earlier presented her latest collection with her family, including her husband David and their four children in the front row.

Guests arriving at the party were instructed to walk through a large, dark green Reverie “bottle” from 9:50 p.m., tapping into the theme sparked by the name of the perfume, which means being pleasantly lost in his thoughts, like a dream.

Mrs Beckham, 50, was also seen followed during the party by David, 49, who kindly filled her glass with red wine as she mingled with her friends and guests, including actress Sofia Vergara, Eva Longoria and supermodel Helena Christiansen.

As for the gift bag, Mrs. Beckham gave each of her guests a bottle of her new fragrance and a matching dark green blanket.

Her latest perfume was inspired by a trip to the Indonesian island of Java with David in 2001. There she was said to be “enchanted by its ancient and aromatic nature”.

Elsewhere at Paris Fashion Week, supermodel Gigi Hadid proved she’s the complete package in a DHL logo dress. Wearing a tight, strapless yellow and red mini dress that gave the illusion that she was wrapped in yellow and red packing tape, Hadid, 29, walked in the show for Swiss luxury fashion house Vetements.
