In a conversation with Evening Standard, the designer revealed unlike most of the country – she refused to wear loungewear around the house – but did identify with parents struggling with homeschooling.

Victoria and husband David, 44, spent the first lockdown in the Cotswolds with kids Romeo, 17, Cruz, 15, and Harper, nine – while eldest son Brooklyn, 22, spent some time with fiancé Nicola Peltz, 26, in the United States .
Speaking of her experiences, Victoria revealed that while she wanted to wear something ‘more casual’, she refused to sit in the loungewear.
She explained: ‘At first it was a novelty … I love dressing up, putting on makeup and doing my hair. It’s who I am.
“I don’t just dress to look a certain way to other people, I do it because it makes me feel good about myself.”

She continued: ‘Of course I was a little more relaxed at home, but I still wanted to do my best. I didn’t plan on automatically putting on sweatpants – even though they’re really nice Reebok sweatpants!
“I wasn’t about to give up and put on an elastic waistband.”
Emily mused, “It seems like David doesn’t like you in too many baggy sweatpants looks,” to which Victoria replied, “I don’t know. He likes that I dress casually, but I was still working every day.
When things started to get tough and the weather wasn’t that great and the novelty had worn off, I’m kind of a cheerleader for the family.
Reunited: Victoria and David spent first Cotswolds lockdown with Romeo, Cruz and Harper, while elder son Brooklyn stayed with fiancé Nicola Peltz in the United States
‘I wanted to wake up and be positive, and I felt positive, so for me to put on nice clothes and put on a little makeup – I’m not saying I wandered around the house in super high heels – I do not I don’t want to break the illusion, but I still wanted to do my best. ‘
Revealing how they kept the kids entertained, Victoria said, ‘When lockdown first happened, the schools closed and we said the focus should be on the kids.
‘We wanted children who come out of the lockdown happy and free-spirited. Yes, we have to do homework, but it is a time when the family is close to communicate. The most important thing is to sit around watching movies and cuddling with the kids – and yes, have a bottle of wine – that’s okay!
‘But just to spend time together, communicate and talk to the children, because the little people felt very nervous and vulnerable at this time. They just don’t know how to express this. ‘
The mother of four also revealed that homeschooling daughter Harper, nine, gave her more appreciation for teachers during the lockdown.
Speaking of Harper and Cruz’s return to school, she revealed: ‘They were so happy. I mean, our kids love to go to school for social friends. They work hard at school.
Homeschooling: Victoria revealed she found it difficult to teach her children and had never seen Harper so excited to go back to school (pictured together last summer)
‘But I’ve never seen my kids so excited to go back to school and it was a joy to see. We forget how much they missed.
‘I think mine really appreciates school more. Because they actually saw that without it life was a little lonely. And how much do we value teachers now?
‘I appreciate teachers so much more, homeschooling is no joke. I can run a business. I can sit in a board meeting. No problem. Yes, homeschooling for the children is really, really difficult. ‘
