Victoria Beckham, 50, admitted that her body insecurities prevented her

Victoria Beckham admitted body insecurities prevented her from “watching her kids play on the beach” as she detailed her “disciplined” diet.

The fashion mogul, 50, revealed that she has not always been comfortable with her body image.

She said Funny magazine: “I never want to sound like I’m complaining, but there were times in the past when I didn’t feel safe enough to sit on the beach and watch my kids play.”

Victoria went on to say negative comments, “don’t bother her now” and has become “more tolerant” of her appearance.

The Spice Girl singer explained that she is “disciplined” with her diet and exercises regularly, but that “life is too short” to count calories.

She continued: ‘This is how I look. I’m going to make the best of it, I’m going to work hard at it. I am very disciplined in the way I eat, in the way I exercise and in the way I work. That is what I am.

‘But I like to have a drink and I’m not going to be like, “Oh, there are too many calories in a glass of wine.” Whatever. Life is too short. Let’s have a good time.’

Previously, Victoria’s husband David revealed that the mother-of-four has been eating the same dish for 25 years: grilled fish and steamed vegetables.

And although the athlete likes to experiment in the kitchen and try very varied dishes, she regrets that this health fanatic “rarely deviates” from her menu.

Footballer David previously revealed Spice Girl Victoria only tried another food once – while she was pregnant with her 10-year-old daughter Harper.

Discussing Victoria’s very specific eating habits on the River Cafe Table 4 podcast, David explained: “I get really excited about food and wine, when I eat something delicious I want everyone to try it.”

‘Unfortunately I am married to someone who has eaten the same thing for the last 25 years. Since I met her she only eats grilled fish and steamed vegetables, and she rarely deviates from that.’

“The only time she probably shared something that was on her mind was when she was pregnant with Harper and it was the most surprising thing.

‘It was one of my favorite nights. I don’t remember what it was, but I know he hasn’t eaten it since.

Victoria previously admitted that she doesn’t eat foods cooked in oil, butter or sauces, and that she doesn’t eat red meat or dairy.

Speaking to the same River Cafés Table 4 podcast, the designer said: ‘For most restaurants, I’m probably their worst nightmare. I love some steamed vegetables, a little balsamic vinegar and then seasoning myself.

‘I like things to be cooked in a very simple way. I don’t like oils or butters or sauces. This is where I seem even more bored in the food department.’

Victoria also confessed that her comfort food was whole wheat toast with salt and on her birthday she celebrates it with a fruit cake.

In 1999, just two months after welcoming her son Brooklyn, Victoria was forced to weigh herself live on television.

The extraordinary incident happened on Chris Evans’ Channel 4 show TFI on Friday and Victoria has since criticized the presenter for forcing her to take part.

Evans told her: “A lot of girls want to know, because you look fantastic again, how did you get back into shape after the birth?”

After answering that she was actually very lazy and hadn’t gone to the gym at all, the host didn’t give up and asked her, “Has your weight returned to normal?”

When she said yes, he insisted: ‘Can I check, do you mind?’ before making her stand on a scale and commenting: ‘Eight stone isn’t bad at all, is it?’

The fashion designer has since said: “I went on a TV show with Chris Evans many years ago and I had just had Brooklyn and then I lost a lot of weight.”

‘It happened to my mother after her pregnancies. It doesn’t mean you have an eating disorder. And she made me get on the scales to be weighed. Can you imagine doing that today?’

Victoria shares Brooklyn, now 25, Romeo, 21, Cruz, 19, and daughter Harper, 12, with her husband David, 49.

The fashion designer stunned on the cover of Grazia as she showed off her toned figure in a black lace bralet.

Victoria completed the look with a sleek black suit and wore her hair in loose waves over her shoulders.

Elsewhere in the interview, Victoria revealed that her daughter Harper created a PowerPoint presentation to try to convince her to let her get a perm.

She told how she created the presentation on the computer and showed it to her and David in the hopes of allowing him to go to the hair salon.

Harper has long, straight blonde hair and a perm uses chemicals to make naturally straight hair curly.

However, even though Harper made the effort to make the PowerPoint, Victoria admitted that her response to the request was “absolutely not.”

Victoria explained that her negative response was born from a bad personal experience getting a perm as a teenager.

In 2022, Victoria shared a snap of her perm while revealing what she considered her ‘teen trash moments’ while joining a TikTok trend.

She shared a reel of some of her most unexpected fashion moments, with Wheatus’ song Teenage Dirtbag playing over the top.

The trend saw TikTokers showing off their awkward and embarrassing teenage years and among the photos Victoria shared was her wearing a silver latex tube and showing off a giant pout with lined lips.

She also wore an oversized shiny bomber jacket, which was all the rage in the ’90s, as well as a giant perm, in stark contrast to her sleek brunette hairstyle.
