Victor Camarasa lowers Crystal Palace’s move to loans after just one Premier League appearance

Victor Camarasa cuts the Crystal Palace loan movement shortly after he has played only one Premier League performance while leaving to join La Liga on the side of Alaves

  • Victor Camarasa only appeared twice before Crystal Palace while on loan
  • The 25-year-old came to Real Betis but did not fit in Selhurst Park
  • He has returned to Spain and is joining Alaves for the remainder of the campaign

Victor Camarasa’s loan agreement between Real Betis and Crystal Palace ended early with the midfielder who returned to Spain.

The 25-year-old was expected to stay in Selhurst Park until the summer after taking out a seasonal loan in August, but he struggled for playing time under manager Roy Hodgson.

Camarasa was recently absent with a calf species, but is now on loan to La Liga-side Alaves until the end of the season.

He only appeared once in the Premier League this campaign – as a late substitute during a 4-0 loss at Tottenham – and started another game, in a Carabao Cup penalty shootout-defeat against Colchester.

A number of injury and fitness issues hampered the time of the former Spain under-21 international in London, although, if available, he sometimes struggled to get the bench for Palace.

Camarasa had previously made an impression in Cardiff City in the Premier League last season by scoring five times and scoring four assists.

However, he failed to have the same influence in South London and returned to his homeland with Alaves.

The 25-year-old, who started his career with Levante, previously loaned to Alaves three years ago before moving to Betis in the summer of 2017.

In the meantime, Palace also wants to give Christian Benteke on loan, while the Belgian wants to breathe new life into his career.

The Eagles have already brought in Everton’s Cenk Tosun as a potential replacement for Benteke on loan until the end of the season.
