Vicky Pattison shared a health update with her Instagram followers on Tuesday after she was left “unable to move” and was rushed to A&E before being diagnosed with glandular fever.

The TV personality, 36, revealed she had been discharged following her previous post which cast doubt on her upcoming wedding to fiancé Ercan Ramadan, after saying she would be forced to remain in hospital “for a while”.

Vicky also shared a series of snaps, including a distressing image of her bleeding arm after having an IV inserted.

She wrote: ‘Blurry but happy time at home, recovery and some things I’m grateful for… Some of these photos are a little graphic so I apologize in advance… and if anyone doesn’t like blood I just wouldn’t mind.’

“I’m so happy to be home, back with my kids and in my bed… I’m starting to feel better already. I just want to thank you all for your kind messages, concern, and advice on getting well soon and movies… They’re all so appreciated!”

She continued: “Also, thank you to the ladies and gentlemen who looked after me at Queens Hospital over the weekend, despite having to deal with a junior doctors’ strike. I can’t imagine being in the NHS right now.”

“It feels like they were understaffed, undervalued, and underpaid, but they still did their best to take care of me and everyone else… So shout out to the gang at Hospital Bay Ocean 2.”

Announcing she had been taken to hospital on Sunday, she posted alarming snaps as she sobbed on her bed in the ward.

Written: “Definitely not the weekend I was planning to have… I was hoping to be on Mount Snowdon for God’s sake.”

‘I don’t even really know where to start but I feel like I dropped that stupid story so a few people who were worried about me going radio silent would know I was being looked after and then a lot more people just got worried which was never my intention, you’re all very kind by the way.’

She continued: “I’m feeling a lot better but I’m totally desperate to get off my painkillers so I hope this doesn’t get too chaotic.”

‘I woke up on Thursday with a splitting headache, ignored it and assumed it was because I had a super long day the day before; anyway, it persisted and turned into a sore throat, razor blade vibrations, and I had a fever, aches, pains, sore joints, etc.’

‘I tried to get to an emergency doctor’s appointment but we were taken to a terrible accident. A journey that should have taken an hour took six and although the doctor did the best he could over the phone, he had no way of knowing what was best. Twenty-four hours passed and I started to feel unwell, which made everything worse. My throat was so swollen I couldn’t swallow, drink water and painkillers were completely out of the question. It was getting to the point where I physically couldn’t move.’

Vicky continued: ‘I started to feel scared, I made another emergency request to my doctor and was referred straight to A&E. After about 36 hours, around 6 bags of fluid, 3 of antibiotics and an untold amount of pain relief, we’re starting to get to the bottom of things.’

“They think it’s infectious mononucleosis, a severe infection and an abscess in my throat. I didn’t allow myself any recovery time after Covid and I guess this just compromised my immune system. I haven’t allowed myself any downtime this year.”

‘I’ve burned the candle at both ends, I’ve worked a grueling schedule and ignored all the signs that my body was desperate for a break – I feel exhausted, overwhelmed, can’t sleep at night because of anxiety, I’m exhausted in the morning, I’ve lost my appetite, I haven’t prioritized my exercise – I haven’t done anything since the half marathon in April, which is very unlike me.’

Before concluding: “This has been the wake-up call I needed, but I am angry with myself for letting this go so far. I will be in the hospital for a while and I think that is for the best.”
