A US Navy veteran who claimed his unit saw a secret military UFO in 2009 said he now lives in fear for his life because he believes dark forces want to silence him.
Former rifleman Michael Herrera, 33, has said he does not want to end up like disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, whom he suggests was murdered, despite his August 2019 death being ruled a suicide.
Last month, the Denver-born Herrera sensationally claimed that while he was serving in Indonesia in 2009, his six-man unit stumbled upon a weapons-laden flying saucer.
Herrera was then a 20-year-old rifleman sent on a Navy humanitarian mission during the 2009 Sumatran earthquake and tsunami that devastated the region.
He told the Mail that while guarding an airdrop of relief supplies out of the city of Padang in October that year, his six-man unit stumbled upon a floating octagonal craft apparently used by US clandestine forces.

Speaking at length with podcaster Shawn Ryan, Herrera said he worries that one day he will be killed by sinister forces he believes are trying to cover up UFO secrets.
‘I could see something moving and turning. It was changing color from a very light matte gray to a very dark matte black,” she said. It stuck out like a sore thumb.
They were then threatened at gunpoint by unidentified US forces at the scene who told them not to reveal their ‘flying saucer’ sighting to anyone, according to Herrera, and their camera was seized by mysterious ‘men in black’.
Herrera, 33, said he doesn’t want to suffer the same fate as Jeffrey Epstein, who suggests his murder was registered as a suicide.
Now, the ex-Marine claims that the threat continues to hang over him, literally, as he says that black helicopters have been flying over his home in Denver.
People who say they’ve had alien encounters often complain about being stalked by black helicopters, a common trope that skeptics claim is just an urban myth.
Speaking at length with podcaster Shawn Ryan, he said he worries he will one day be killed by sinister forces he believes are trying to cover up the Pentagon’s UFO secrets.
“I don’t feel like hurting myself…everyone makes the joke that Epstein didn’t kill himself…so the same is true here,” Herrera said.
“I have no reason to hurt myself, so if something happens, it’s not because of me.”
“I’ve had numerous encounters with bloody helicopters hovering over my house,” he added. They were also flying over my father’s house.
‘They get so low, where they shake the walls [and] scare the animals we have.
‘[My dad’s] the dogs were freaking out at the time and he was worried because he was home and said he had never heard anything like it.
Herrera added that he believes other UFO whistleblowers have been subjected to similar intimidation tactics.

Herrera says he was encouraged to break his 14-year silence by new protections for UFO whistleblowers and in April testified under oath about his wild history.
“There are some elected officials, and even some government officials that I know the same thing is happening to them because they told me personally.”
Herrera’s claim about having seen the UFO in Indonesia came after 14 years of silence.
He felt emboldened by the new protections for UFO whistleblowers, and in April he testified under oath before the government’s UFO investigation team, the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), as well as before a Senate committee.
The veteran provided his four-year unimpeachable service record and text messages about the incident with an alleged fellow witness, who declined to speak, saying it was “not worth my life or endangering my family.”
Peripheral aspects of his account were verified by DailyMail.com using military sources. But Herrera, 33, has no documentation or photos of the incident itself.
