Vernon Kaye joins Paddy McGuinness to cheer on his beloved Bolton Wanderers as they clinch the trophy

Date:

Vernon Kaye joined Pal Buddy McGuinness as they cheered on their beloved Bolton Wanderers at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.

The duo – who were born just a stone’s throw away from the northwest town – could be seen screaming with joy as the team beat Plymouth Argyle 4-0 to win the Papa John’s Cup.

Vernon, 48, cut a casual figure for the outing with a plaid shirt that he wore over a dark blazer.

Meanwhile, Buddy, 49, wore a dark bomber jacket and seemed to be having a great time on the catwalk.

The Trotters got off to a dream start in London, with Kyle Dempsey slotting in a Declan John corner after just four minutes, to give Ian Yvett’s side the lead.

He was in the thick of the action after just six minutes, as Dion Charles produced a stunning cross through the center of the penalty area, and the striker made no mistake to put his side two goals ahead.

They shot again just after half-time, as Elias Kachunga took advantage of a Plymouth error, running across the goal to gracefully climb into the top corner.

And they weren’t done yet, with Gethin Jones, one of the youngest players on the field meeting his head to set up a quadruple of goals for Bolton.

It comes after Paddy McGuinness broke his silence and discussed “homesickness” following his split from wife Christine after 11 years of marriage.

The presenter, 49, discussed his dislike of being away from his family, as he continues to live with his estranged partner, 35, and their three children.

Paddy has spent some time away from home as he travels to the Eastern Cape, South Africa, for his latest new Channel 4 programme, Tempting Fortunes.

Talking about his busy schedule he said the sun‘s TV Mag: “I’ve always had a kind of rule that I stick to where I don’t do more than nine days anywhere because I like being home.” I naturally think you’re homesick.

When I used to do Take Me Out, for example, you thought a little differently because you’re in the UK, so psychologically it wasn’t that bad, but Take Me Out was a week long, so take me out, weirdly, of all I Did It, is the show that took me away from home the longest.

He went on to say that even when he travels around the world, he always makes sure to have his phone close at hand in order to communicate with his loved ones via video calls, and he would have a hard time being a contestant on the show because they can’t contact their families.

“When you’re in the situation that these guys (the Tempting Fortune contestants) are in, where you literally have no contact with your family, that’s when the chips are really down,” Paddy said.

It comes after Kristen recently shared a photo of herself in a blue bikini while posting a cryptic post-split message.

The model took to Instagram this week to share a photo taken on a recent vacation.

She told her social media followers that she was looking forward to spending time with her children as the school holidays approached.

Kristen shares twins Penelope, Leo, nine, and Felicity, six, all with the former comedian.

In her photo, Kristen is seen basking in the sunlight as she sits poolside with her back to the camera, captioning the capture: “Never look back.

I’m ready for a busy half term focused on my little family.

The Torment: He then went on to discuss the contestants on his latest show on Channel 4, Tempting Fortunes, in which 12 contestants trek across the Eastern Cape in South Africa in search of £300,000 and the agony of 'no contact' with their families

“So… this mother needs some R&D.”

It comes after Kristen got candid about her family dynamic this week when she described embracing their differences.

Continuing to live together for the sake of their children, Christine and TV presenter Paddy have been open about their co-parenting dynamic at home.

And the conversation goes on FM heart “We’re not actually like any other family I know,” Kristen explained of No Filter this week.

She insisted she never compare herself to anyone else, as the TV personality also touched on her autism diagnosis and how that relates to motherhood.
