Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy has raised his gaming earnings this week to $4.41 million.

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy has given his bank balance a big boost after winning $1.65 million from Scottie Scheffler’s victory at the Masters.

The millionaire media personality (and famous gambler) stood his ground as he watched Scheffler don a second green jacket on Sunday night, turning his $300,000 bet into $1.65 million.

Incredibly, it’s his second big windfall in a week, after he invested $600,000 in UConn to win March Madness, making it $2.76 million.

That brings his winnings to a staggering $4.41 million in the space of just six days, surely achieving one of the most successful weeks of his playing life.

Portnoy was live-tweeting most of the tournament at Augusta National, mainly criticizing the American world number one when he did something wrong.

While Scheffler was playing on the top nine on Sunday, Portnoy tweeted: “How the hell is Scheffler #1 in the world? He can’t string 2 good shots in a row all weekend. It’s over.”

Just two hours later, that turned into: ‘SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER IS THAT GUY.’ A beast. A male child. Never blinks. BEST IN THE WORLD AND NOT EVEN CLOSE. I never doubted his greatness. Not only did he win! He won for fun! He played with the competition. I hate to say I told you so but I told you so. #teachers’

Scheffler came into the tournament as the heavy favorite and that didn’t change over the four days, with the 27-year-old in contention throughout the tournament.

At Sunday’s turn, he birdied the eighth, ninth and 10th holes in a row to extend his lead, before a slight problem on the 11th hole.

He then birdied Nos. 13, 14 and 16 to extend his lead over Ludvig Aberg to four shots, making the final two holes at Augusta a relative procession.

It’s Scheffler’s second green jacket in three years and he now has two major championships.

It would be a surprise if he doesn’t ramp that up very quickly, though, with the PGA Championship, US Open and Open Championship following closely behind in May, June and July.
