British commentator Piers Morgan has criticized outspoken Australian vegan activist Tash Peterson for comparing the killing of farm animals to the Holocaust.
Ms Peterson, 29, from Western Australia, appeared on Morgan’s Uncensored TV show on Friday wearing a T-shirt with the words “End This Holocaust” and an image of a pig in a cage.
Morgan suggested that people were losing interest in veganism because they were “sick of being yelled at.”
“You’re one of those people who runs into restaurants and plays the sounds of animals screaming in slaughterhouses and stuff,” Morgan said.

Tash Peterson said that ‘there have been multiple holocausts throughout human history’
The controversial activist responded, stating that she did not agree with his analysis.
‘No, I don’t think so at all,’ he said.
“I think it draws more attention to the animal holocaust,” Peterson offered, to which Morgan asked, “Why would you use the word holocaust?”
“The Holocaust is the mass extermination of more than six million Jews by Adolf Hitler and the Nazis,” he said.
‘Why would you use such emotional language knowing that it would offend people?’
Ms Peterson responded that it was “just a statement of fact”.
“If you look at the definition of a holocaust, it is massacre or destruction on a large scale,” he said.
“Multiple holocausts have occurred throughout human history, and non-human animals may be subject to the same atrocities as humans.”

Ms. Peterson is known for her confrontational protest tactics.

Ms Peterson has been banned from WA pubs and restaurants
Morgan also criticized Peterson’s methods of protest, saying there were better ways to convince people to switch to veganism “than running into restaurants and playing screaming animal noises.”
Ms Peterson is currently in the UK for the Vegan Camp Out Festival where she will appear as a guest speaker.
She was asked to seek permission from a Perth court for the trip after she was charged with failure to leave a licensed venue, disorderly conduct and trespassing.
Ms Peterson received a 12-month ban from licensed WA venues after engaging in multiple confrontations with chef John Mountain at his Perth restaurant Fyre on June 30 and July 8.
Mr Mountain banned vegans from his restaurant in June, prompting Ms Peterson to stage protests outside her venue where she upset diners by playing loud audio of pigs squealing while yelling about the “animal apocalypse”.
Ms Peterson this week posted a video on social media in which she appeared to burn the police notice banning her from entering WA pubs and restaurants.
Peterson will appear via video link for his next court appearance on July 31.
