Fans get their first look at Vanessa Williams dressed as… Priestly Miranda in a new social media promotion marking the start of the screening of the new musical adaptation of The Devil Wears Prada in London, England.
The production opens with previews at the Theatre Royal Plymouth on Saturday 6 July and runs until 17 August, before opening at the Dominion Theatre in the West End in October.
In the promotional video, which reads: ‘Miranda has arrived’, the actress and singer can be seen shooting from beneath the stage in a dramatic fashion.
The star of the new production, with music by Elton John, wears a red sequin dress and matching jacket.
At first, she remains still with her jacket closed as she looks forward with a serious Miranda look on her face, but once she reaches the top of the stage, she quickly opens her coat to give a full-body look at the eye-catching number.

The musical is based on Lauren Weisberger’s bestselling 2003 novel and the hit 2006 film that grossed $326.7 million at the global box office on a budget of $35-41 million, on its way to two Oscar nominations.
Williams plays Miranda Priestly, the powerful editor-in-chief of the fictional New York City-based fashion magazine Runway, who was brilliantly portrayed by Meryl Streep in the film adaptation.
In the promo clip, Williams exudes couture with her dress that hugs her fabulous figure in just the right way.
While the coat, which fell close to the ground, was a brighter red on the outside, once Williams opened both sides it revealed a darker red sequin design that matched her dress almost perfectly.
Keeping her look serious, the former Miss America 1984 had her long brown hair pulled back with a part slightly to the left.
Williams, who made his Broadway debut in 1994’s Kiss Of The Spider Woman, leads a cast that includes British actor Matt Henry playing Nigel, as well as Georgie Buckland (Andy), Amy Di Bartolomeo (Emily), Rhys Whitfield (Nate) and James Darch (Christian).
