FC Twente forgot to express the excellent game of the first half in goals on Sunday afternoon. Also the gentlemen atThe Eastern Tribunale‘ from RTV East saw that Twente ran into an unnecessary loss of points against Go Ahead. This wasn’t the first time this season.
“I would say, it was really a storm from FC Twente”, Jan van Staa begins. “They flew over it from the start and Go Ahead could really only stop them. They create many opportunities, but if you don’t “They stay in the game. They were two very different halves. Twente lose two points based on the first half, but based on ninety minutes, 1-1 is a fair result.”
Van Staa is very pleased with the first half. “They were really good. They played a very fast tempo and sometimes combine too far. Then you think: Shoot sooner. But Go Ahead was almost nothing when it came to possession. If you think normally, 3-0 would have been a normal result at halftime.”
“I was at Volendam yesterday,” says Bas Nijhuis. “That’s what the players were talking about. They were also played away by FC Twente at the beginning. Now it’s the same story actually, if you don’t score the goals it will still run after that. As a result, you lose important points again.”
